Hailing from the exciting days of 70’s soul disco, alongside bands such as The Four Tops and The Temptations, The O’Jays original members Eddie Levert and Walter Williams have remained with the group and continue to entertain the world!
With mega-hits including ‘Love Train’, ‘Backstabber’, ‘For The Love Of Money’, ‘I Love Music’ and many more, how could you not LOVE the O’Jays?
We spoke to 3rd member of the O’Jays Eric Nolan Grant about his life and career.
Ohio native, and veteran vocalist and songwriter, Eric Nolan Grant began singing at four and has been a star ever since. During his teen years, he was a member of The Deltones. He began his professional career singing background vocals for Dennis Edwards of The Temptations when he too launched a solo career in 1984.

The energy and vigour that the trio – currently completed by Eric Grant, have continued to pour into their live shows for 50 years, makes for a high energy, nostalgic journey into the sweet sounds of vintage RnB.
Walter Williams and Eddie Levert first met when they were the ages of 6 and 7 respectively.
As teenagers in Canton, Ohio, THE O’JAYS formed a band originally consisting of Eddie Levert, Walter Williams, William Powell, Bobby Massey and Bill Isles.
In 1963, the band took the name “The O’Jays” in tribute to Cleveland radio disc jockey Eddie O’Jay. Several members have changed, but the core, original lead singers Eddie Levert and Walter Williams, continue to front the group.
With such familiar hits having made a genuine impact worldwide in their seventies heyday, it’s little wonder that The O’Jays can count themselves amongst the revered inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as the recipients of a BET Lifetime Achievement Award. The O’Jays are touring history, a connection to an era and the classic club sound that has formed the soundtrack for the lives of generations.
