Unique delicate flavour combinations that never outshine the magnificent fresh fish, but complimenting their local brilliance.
I truly wish I could find a restaurant this exciting in my home town.

The Metropolitan Hotel by COMO has 74 newly renovated rooms, a top restaurant, incredible beach location and views n the heart of the Miami Beach Historic District – this is a hotel that stands out in a sea of corporate blandness.

The atmosphere is cool, unprotentious, indulgent and inviting with elegant design by Paola Navone.
Even the tableside coat tree (picture 3) has a touch of class that I’ve not seen before….

He should be hugely proud of his presentation – this man is world class and can cook exceptionally well.

What a seafood platter – in fact the epitome of fish indulgence that everyone should aspire to.
Fresh. Juicy. Packed with flavour. Stunning products. Simple. Refined.

Next came a delicious tuna tartare – suculant, packed with flavour and melt in your mouth fresh.
Normally I’m weary of grilled octopus in any restaurant (including a seafood eateries) – this dish dispelled all myths!
It appears octopus can be tender, delicious and a perfect start to a meal if cooked by the right chef….
The grouper was the star attraction – meaty, flavour-packed and cooked to perfection.
The Mahi-mahi was a special created dish by Chef Jonathan in tribute to my British roots.
Both plates blew my mind with their creativity. They were both not only visual art but a sensation to the palate.
Dessert was an absolute triumph:
The ‘Orange Texture’ was simply stunning with blood orange sorbet and the most moreish, but light, chocolate mouse on a crispy base. Worth a visit in itself.
Next came the Mango ‘cannolis’ followed by incredible filo slices with strawberries, citrus sorbet & chartreuse cream…..simple divine!
Metropolitan by COMO stands tall over Miami Beach with its pool, restaurant and bar.
